The Victorian Amateur Football Association is pleased to announce the appointment of Blair O’Hara as General Manager of Commercial Operations.
Most recently, O’Hara developed several major business initiatives at Stride Sports Management and assisted AFL player agents refocus recruiting strategy to great effect. In addition, he worked with Sports Knowledge Corporation across a number of cutting edge commercial projects in basketball and volleyball at national, state, and local level.
Welcoming the appointment, CEO of the VAFA, Michael Sholly said "I am delighted to welcome Blair O’Hara in the new role of commercial operations at the VAFA. This appointment reflects the VAFA’s commitment to further expand the commercial potential of the association and in turn, improve the competition for our players, clubs, and fans."
Mr O’Hara, 35, is a graduate of the Peninsula School in Mt Eliza and San Diego State University in California, USA. He played NCAA Division 1 tennis for the ‘Aztecs’ and went onto complete a bachelor’s degree with distinction in Film, TV, and New Media Production. Mr O’Hara knowledge and experience of the NCAA, the world’s largest amateur sporting competition, will be of great benefit to the Victorian Amateur Football Association.
