The Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA) is Melbourne’s premier community football organisation conducting the largest senior football competition in Australia.
The Association comprises seventy-three clubs spread over twenty-four municipalities in metropolitan Melbourne. This season, the VAFA administered over 12,000 registered players in 250 teams across twenty-six sections.
The VAFA proudly promotes a family friendly culture and is the only senior football competition that doesn’t allow the consumption of alcohol during senior matches.
The Association is administered by a Board comprising nine elected members (three year terms), and up to two extra members, who can be appointed annually subject to ratification by the clubs.
The Board is seeking people for these appointed positions. The pre-requisites for consideration are:
• experience in and an understanding of community sporting organisations;
• a keen interest in the governance of community sport; and
• specialised financial, legal, marketing or strategic planning skills.
Interested persons should contact VAFA President Bruno Conti on 0417 929 120 or apply by submitting CV outlining relevant experience to [email protected] before 22 October.
