VAFA Chairman Bruno Conti made the announcement to the VAFA community via a memo to member clubs this afternoon. The memo read –
It is with regret that I inform the VAFA community that Peninsula OB were found guilty of conduct unbecoming a club of the Association in that Mark Glenn did allegedly infringe his amateur status when playing ten senior VAFA matches in 2006 as a playing coach.
Peninsula will be drawn to play in Section D2 in 2009.
Peninsula conducted themselves with complete honesty and integrity during the investigation process.
The composition of Section D1 and indeed all other sections will be finalised at the Board seminar on October 26 2008.
