The VAFA congratulates Old Scotch young gun Sam Lynch after he was named the Round 12 Men’s Rising Star Nominee on the back of a three-goal performance in the Cardinals’ 50-point win over Ajax.
What the Club said:
“Sam first started playing at Old Scotch in 2016, playing a couple of games in the U19’s whilst playing school football for Scotch and Oakleigh Chargers.
The AFL player Sam most play’s like is his namesake Tom Lynch from Adelaide, having made the transition from playing through the backline and midfield to playing forward for the first time.
His strengths as a footballer includes endurance, his ability to get up the ground and take marks as well as reading the play very well. Sam is renowned for training hard, getting around his teammates and helping out around the club when needed.”
