Peter Rhoden
Peter Rhoden played 60 games with the Old Xaverians Football Club and became intrinsically involved with the VAFA in a number of fields commencing as an outstanding player prior to injury forcing an early retirement.
Peter had been a star sportsman at Xavier College, a member of their 1955 APS Football premiership and was highly regarded as a player at both ends of the ground.
Peter’s contribution to the Old Xaverians included terms as OXFC Committeeman 15 years and OXFC Honorary Secretary 2 years. Peter coached the Old Xaverians from 1962 to 1968. His fine coaching reputation was such that Peter was appointed VAFA Representative Coach in 1962, 1963 and 1973; serving with distinction in that role.
Peter was subsequently awarded with VAFA Life Membership in 2009 having also served in numerous other VAFA capacities including Umpires appointments (1964-1966), VAFA Selector (1964 & 1965), Member pf the VAFA Tribunal (1977 to 2016).
