Michael Hazel

Michael Hazel’s 30 year involvement in the VAFA has included distinctions for playing, coaching and as an administrator.. 

Michael has played in three senior VAFA premierships including the St Bede’s Mentone Tigers 2008 A Grade team.

Michael’s notable career in the VAFA includes playing representative football, in both the A Grade Team  and the Division 1 to Division 4 team. 

In addition to Michael’s fine playing career in the VAFA he has also contributed significantly as a  coach of both senior and junior teams.

Following his distinguished coaching/playing career Michaell joined the Board of the VAFA for a decade ultimately leading to his appointment as VAFA President in 2014. 

Notably, Michael Hazel became both the youngest President and youngest Life Member in the VAFA’s long history. Michael’s life membership of the VAFA was awarded in 2021.
