VAFA Insurance
The Victorian Amateur Football Association in conjunction with Marsh, the league’s insurance broker and risk adviser, has arranged insurance coverage for all affiliated member clubs, officials, coaches, umpires, volunteer workers and players.
The dedicated Marsh website provides important information about your insurance program. Click here to go directly to the website.
We ask club officials to take the time to read the policy documents and information flyers and encourage all club members to do the same. It is most important that all clubs are aware of the coverage provided and the procedure to follow in the event of a claim, prior to an incident occurring. Failure to be aware of the extent of coverage and procedures to follow often leads to unnecessary delays and, in some cases, disappointment.
The level of cover and the competitive costs have been achieved to benefit all clubs, coaches and individual members who are part of, or looking to be part of, this Program. Therefore, it is extremely important that everyone supports this initiative.
The program provides competitively broad protection across the following areas:
- Public & Products Liability (including Professional Indemnity)
- Club Management Liability
- Personal Injury
- Asset Protection

In 2025, all VAFA Clubs and their players will be provided with Gold Level personal injury cover. The Victorian Amateur Football Association encourages all participants to take out private health insurance in addition to this policy. Clubs also have an opportunity to purchase increased coverage above the Gold level on behalf of all their teams and players. Visit the Marsh website to find out more about upgrading your clubs’ cover.
CERTIFICATE OF CURRENCY
Clubs can obtain a copy of their Public & Product Liability Certificate of Currency (COC) directly form the Marsh website. This document is often required by our local council to prove that your Association or Club has liability insurance in place.
Access your club’s COC here, using the AFL ID provided to your club by Marsh Insurance.
