One thing about Uni Blues and Old Xaverians – they sure know how to turn on a contest! Uni went to the final break 25 points in arrears but stormed home with ten goals in the last quarter to take the cookies.

The North West Amateur Footy Report returns to the airwaves tonight at 7pm for a preview of this weeks matches and on Sunday from 6-9pm for a run down of Amateur footy from the weekend.
The following players have been released by their VFL club to play in the VAFA this weekend.
Last Monday the VAFA had their season’s launch with 400 attendees at the MCC Dining Room. Kevin Sheedy proposed the toast to the VAFA and David Parkin, the VAFA’s ambassador for the 150 years celebration was the guest speaker. The Minister for Sport, James Merlino was also in attendance including MCC CEO Stephen Gough, Chairman of Cricket Victoria Geoff Tamblyn and CEO of AFL Victoria Peter Schwab.
So it’s come to this. Two of the proudest clubs in amateur football square off in a cutthroat preliminary final.
When it comes to A Section grand finals, it pays to expect the unexpected. For the last quarter of a century or so, upsets have abounded and second semi final form has been rendered redundant.
AFL Victoria would like to recognise clubs who set the benchmark in club development and recognize major achievements at club level within the State.
To celebrate the partnership between the VAFA and 2XU, we are again offering items of their high performance compression range at a discounted rate to all VAFA registered players and umpires only. (suitable to wear in matches)
